We grind the slab to open up the concrete so the coating bonds into it, and remove old sealers, paint and contamination.
Crack & pit repair
Cracks, chips and low spots are filled and ground flush so they don't telegraph through the finish.
Moisture check
Moisture coming up through the slab is a common cause of coating failure, so we check before we commit to a system.
Primer & base coat
A primer and pigmented epoxy base coat build the bond and the colour.
Flake or solid finish
Choose a full decorative flake broadcast that hides dust and marks, or a clean solid colour.
Clear protective topcoat
A clear topcoat locks it all in for chemical and abrasion resistance. Anti-slip additive is available for wet areas.

Epoxy Floor Coating FAQs
How long does an epoxy garage floor last?+
With proper grinding prep, a quality epoxy system typically lasts many years in a home garage. When coatings fail early it's usually down to poor prep or moisture in the slab, which is why we spend the time on both.
Can you coat over a painted or sealed floor?+
Usually the old paint or sealer has to be ground off first so the epoxy bonds to the concrete itself. We check this during the inspection and include it in the quote.
How long before I can use the floor?+
Typically light foot traffic after about a day and cars after about 5–7 days, depending on the products and temperature. We'll confirm exact times for your job.
Does Canberra's cold weather affect epoxy?+
Yes. Epoxy needs the slab and air above a minimum temperature to cure properly, so in winter we schedule around the weather rather than rush it.
Is an epoxy floor slippery?+
A flake finish adds texture, and we can add an anti-slip additive to the topcoat for areas that get wet.
